“Are we meeting over Zoom or at the coffee shop?” I asked myself after I dropped my daughter off early at daycare.  I had a fathering meeting, and couldn’t remember what we agreed to.

“Ready for in-person if you are!”  Dr. Joshua responded.

I got in the car and drove to the usual place we’d been meeting for the last few years of my walk of sonship.

We weren’t talking long before a woman behind us said, “Joshua?!  Is that you?”

I turned around and saw the look of recognition on Dr. Joshua’s face.  It was as if two long-time friends were being reunited after a long absence.  They got caught up about their families.  It had been 12 years since they’d seen each other.

I didn’t know who this stranger was, but instantly I felt my spirit spring to life as if I’d known her forever.  I felt such a deep, profound love for her.

“I can’t believe I ran into you here!” she said.

“It’s so funny,” said Dr. Joshua.  “I was just thinking this morning that it would be easier to do a Zoom call, but felt Holy Spirit orchestrating for us to meet here at the coffee shop this morning. I don’t think this reunion is a coincidence.”

He introduced me.  “This is my spiritual daughter, Nicole.”

I shook hands with this woman and felt an immediate bond.

“Do you have an extra copy of your book, Nicole?”  Dr. Joshua asked.

“Of course!  I keep a box in the car.  Let me go grab one.”

As I walked out, I felt such a thrill to be able to gift one of my books.  It was becoming a more regular occurrence.

I grabbed a copy for the woman and for her friend.

When I sat back down, I heard the woman telling the story of her abusive ex-husband and how she needed inner healing and deliverance for herself and her children.

As I listened, it was striking how similar our stories were.  She was looking for the same peace and freedom that I had been looking for.  On this side of freedom, I knew that FreedomHouse Jacksonville was perfectly equipped to help her.  I was proof of that!

I listened in awe, marveling at God’s orchestration, as I listened to my spiritual father describe to her all the components of our Kingdom Center that was equipped, at a world class level, to be able to bring healing to such an abused woman.

2 years ago, I had been that abused woman.

I recounted how every aspect of the Kingdom Center contributed to my freedom.  Courts of Heaven, Freedom Ministry, Eagle Company of Prophets, Healing Rooms, Children’s Ministry for my daughter, and more.  I listened to him relay the same promise that I received: that God could bring restoration as if the trauma and abuse never happened.

She had the same reaction as me: there was something in her spirit convincing her that the promise was true.

I saw such similarities in our disposition – the same deep desire for freedom, and the same fighting spirit.  She had a heart of David, and I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that if she accepted the invitation, she would be matured to be a fiery kingdom leader who could fulfill her destiny and purpose.

Last week, I was happy to hide out in a cave and not talk to anyone.  And yet this week, I felt filled to overflow with love for a stranger.  After they left, I asked my spiritual father what that feeling of love was.

He said, “It’s like the road to Emmaus.  Hearts burn when Jesus is present.”

“And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”  So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

Luke 24:32

Recently, I did an interview with my spiritual father and we were talking about the release of my second book.  I shared that since I left my own abusive marriage, it was on my heart to be able to share my story with other abused women.

Today, God orchestrated a reunion with the woman and my spiritual father, and I had the honor of being able to give her my story.  My story is a journey of deliverance out of the darkness.  It’s a testimony that the truth makes you free.  It’s an invitation into a pathway of freedom toward destiny.

I was praying this afternoon, and I got the sense that God was calling His children in, and calling His children home.

“Let My people go!!!”  I heard in the spirit.

Today was the start of something amazing and beautiful.  And it’s only the beginning!
