In July, I took a trip to the beautiful state of Montana. While there, I was gifted a notebook and God began to fill the pages on a road trip to Idaho and into the wilderness. I began to receive heavenly downloads as a waterfall of creativity began to flow in poetic form.

Thru the process of writing poetry, God began to open up orphan wounds and touched them with the spirit of adoption in new & beautiful ways.

When I got back home to Florida, I felt like He was leading me to publish the collection. As I said yes to Him, He began to unfold the process in a divine orchestration.

One day, as I was typing the poems, not knowing what to name the book, the LORD showed me a white cover with “modern psalms” written in typewriter script on the front. I couldn’t see what the rest of the cover looked like, but I knew that the LORD had given me the name of the book 🙂

I did my best to do a mock-up of a cover with the LORD’s specifications, but nothing felt right. Frustrated, I went to bed for the night, and while I was falling asleep, I felt the LORD say, “Have Brooks do the cover.”

Brooks Duell is a Kingdom artist who God had divinely connected me with just months prior in a dream class. I almost jumped for joy at the idea. Her paintings were breathtaking!

At Holy Spirit’s nudging, I connected with her and we began a dance of obedience to create the cover for this first book of poetry the way God intended.

It was God again who orchestrated the publishing date of September 1, 2022. He spoke to me, and gave Brooks a confirming dream that it was the right day. And so in less than 2 months, modern psalms was birthed into the world.

The release of modern psalms came just in time to be used in a fundraising effort for a missionary trip to Costa Rica I’ve been invited to be a part of.
